A new chief executive officer is now ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care at Cache Valley Hospital; his name is Daren Wells. He brings a wealth of experience to this leadership position, including over 13 years of hospital experience in executive and director positions.

"Daren is immensely qualified to lead our efforts to enhance the quality of patient care and address unmet healthcare needs in Cache County and surrounding communities," said Greg Angle, president of MountainStar Healthcare and the HCA Mountain Division. For the past 18 months, Wells was the chief operating officer at Timpanogos Regional Hospital in Orem, another MountainStar hospital. In that position, he successfully led the implementation of multiple projects that expanded patient care, and was involved with launching the hospital's new pediatric intensive care unit.

Kimball Anderson, CEO of Timpanogos Regional Hospital said, "Daren has been instrumental in advancing many of our growth strategies. His leadership skills and ability to develop and nurture relationships will help him succeed as CEO of Cache Valley Hospital."

Wells previously served as associate chief operating officer at St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City. Prior to that, he held leadership roles as an associate administrator at Desert Springs Hospital and Spring Valley Hospital for Universal Health Services in Las Vegas, Nevada. He also served as regional director of wound care, ostomy, and hyperbaric medicine with Intermountain Healthcare, and director of wound care and hyperbaric medicine at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in Patchogue, New York.

Wells said, "Every day, I see compassionate staff members making our mission come alive at Cache Valley Hospital; they are truly committed to the care and improvement of human life. I am excited to work with them as we continue to take great care of patients and expand our services to better meet this community's healthcare needs."

Wells holds a Master of Health Services Administration from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Brigham Young University. Wells and his wife have four daughters. In his leisure time, Wells enjoys playing with his kids, taking family hikes, snowboarding and reading.
